my fine feathered friends | Pittsburgh Child and Family Professional Photographer

In case all you mom’s out there were confused by all this talk of presets, I figured I would take a minute to help you understand what all the hype is about. So when you hire a professional photographer to take your families portraits, about 80% of the work is done behind the scenes.  From styling, culling (or selecting what images to show), to editing, then designing wall galleries. Many many hours are spent doing this. I have worked hard over the last few years to automate as much of this process as possible.  One of the things that has helped me is to save the settings use over and over again in my editing. Doing this is called creating a preset. Then when I have an image again with similar light, colors or feel I can push one click to replicate the same editing tools. Viola….instead of playing around with about 50 different possible adjustments I have a great base to begin working your images. Now this has been one really important piece in gaining some sanity in my life so I wanted to share it with other photographers. See many of us are busy moms and I know the feeling of missing too much of your little ones life while trying to build a business ; – (  With the launch of these tools, I hope my photographer friends out there are getting a little time back with their families.

Now I can take snaps in the backyard- and here with our little feather house guests, before the went to live on the farm- without feeling bogged down with the need to spend a bunch of time editing them. I used JUST DUCKY with no other adjustments.

So photog friends go and get some more time with your family.
