It’s been a little quiet over here on the blog!

We have been busy catching butterflies and dreams here at Munchkins and Mohawks….

It’s the busiest time of the year but also the best time of the year.

This pretty little family drove 16 hours all the way from Oklahoma to create some magic with us! It’s days like these where I really need to pinch myself…

A good friend of mine has been urging me to do a 365 project- where you shoot and post your image of every day of the year. She had stressed to me how quickly time goes by and how my littlest is quickly approaching ONE! To be able to have those captures- really watching them grow up right before your eyes sound amazing. Well- in a perfect, one child, stay at home mom life- I might have, but let’s get real!I have THREE kiddos- one with special needs- a full time business, and a crazy workaholic hubby. Um- nope. not gonna happen. I know my limits!

So when the opportunity arose to join in on this project I was game. Once a month- now I can handle that- maybe. For the next year myself along with 11 other talented photographers are challenging ourselves to get out and show you all how we see things. I will be linking to their blogs as well so you can travel though their work and see “the way they view….”. (Now I jumped in a tad late, so next month I promise to be stellar- It did force me to shoot more my sweet baby girl- albeit in my PJs in the yard ! Man – My neighbors think I am crazy for sure!!) I promise to be better prepared next month.

With this project, I hope to have many if not all of my posts featuring my children. I hate that I take beautiful portraits of so many other families, but Christmas pictures once a year is the best my kiddos get.

2012 is a year of purpose. It is about making it worth it. This project is part of my contribution to them…my kiddos…my life…why I do this.

There ares some people you just connect with – they were just one of those people.

From the minute they contacted me I knew this was going to be something special. Their circumstances were extraordinary.

The babies to be were going to be showered in so much love that it was amazing to be part of it. From their gorgeous – all be it last minute- maternity session to our peaceful day of cuddling them for their own shoot, they have been lovely through and though.

What an honor to be able to be part of such an intimate time in their lives. To capture life as it created ……ahhhh-mazing!

Now onto the the twins!

They couldn’t be more different. From looks to personality- they may be twins, but they are going to be leaving their own stamps on the world for sure. He is mild mannered and peaceful. She is spunky and vivacious. But both were just so fun to cuddle!!!!

How cool to be able to watch this family grow up. I met this guy in his mommas belly almost exactly a year ago. Now to see him today- so happy and content. He was just a joy to spend the day with.

His mom really knows how to dress this kiddo. Of course I always have some ideas, but I never have a doubt that she is going to bring something fabulous.

Now lets quit monkeying around and get to the pictures!

Seriously- we could have left after these images : – )…..He totally rocked it! haha

Kind of seems crazy that each year as the holidays approach the thought of shooting my own family is dreadful- so this year I took a different approach to it. No fancy clothes- well, maybe on the baby…she doesn’t talk back yet..lol- No sit here and pose or do this or that and guess what? You only want to shoot for 20 minutes, okay?! I tried to capture my own little munchkins as they are.

My oldest- hates the thought of taking pictures, but once he is there he LOVES it an totally pulls out the GQ moves.

My middle- never ever stops moving- won’t look at me to save her life and is generally just the goofiest little thing!

The baby- super sweet, photogenic, and pretty much the cutest baby out there.

So there ya have it my little imperfect perfect family.

Yep- she just mooned me!

Told ya she was crazy!

Having had a baby myself just two weeks older that this guy was pretty cool. I enjoyed seeing him doing what we are just experiencing. The first smiles, cooing, and a bit of crying! hehe. I know were are just getting the the awake and happy phase, just.now.this.week. So, despite our efforts to get him in a deep sleep or happy and playing- mister was so over me messing with him. I think I managed to get his sweet personality though. We finally waited him out and got some lovely sleepy shots outside.

So having come quite a distance to have his pictures taken…..about a 5 hour drive, I hope we made it worth it !
