So when the opportunity arose to join in on this project I was game. Once a month- now I can handle that- maybe. For the next year myself along with 11 other talented photographers are challenging ourselves to get out and show you all how we see things. I will be linking to their blogs as well so you can travel though their work and see “the way they view….”. (Now I jumped in a tad late, so next month I promise to be stellar- It did force me to shoot more my sweet baby girl- albeit in my PJs in the yard ! Man – My neighbors think I am crazy for sure!!) I promise to be better prepared next month.

With this project, I hope to have many if not all of my posts featuring my children. I hate that I take beautiful portraits of so many other families, but Christmas pictures once a year is the best my kiddos get.

2012 is a year of purpose. It is about making it worth it. This project is part of my contribution to them…my kiddos…my life…why I do this.

From the minute they contacted me I knew this was going to be something special. Their circumstances were extraordinary.

The babies to be were going to be showered in so much love that it was amazing to be part of it. From their gorgeous – all be it last minute- maternity session to our peaceful day of cuddling them for their own shoot, they have been lovely through and though.

What an honor to be able to be part of such an intimate time in their lives. To capture life as it created ……ahhhh-mazing!

Now onto the the twins!

They couldn’t be more different.  From looks to personality- they may be twins, but they are going to be leaving their own stamps on the world for sure. He is mild mannered and peaceful. She is spunky and vivacious. But both were just so fun to cuddle!!!!

I am just getting back from a super fun trip to New Orleans. It was full of learning, recharging and getting inspired.

When not shooting clients I am a little light on the picture taking, but I did snap a few. I figured I share them with ya!

I didn’t know then, but I was about to step into the most amazing- thrilling- scary- overwhelming- and perfect adventure yet!
Anyone with a child that has any sort of special need can understand the range of emotions you go though on a daily basis.  Life has been crazy. From really low lows to exhilarating highs. He has blessed us in incredible ways. He has made me become compassionate, non judgmental, patient, and creative. Most of all he has taught me to always look for the best in everyone. When others see challenges I seek victories. I appreciate the little things. He has opened my eyes to the possibilities in us all.

He is MY Mohawk…..He is why this all started and why I continue to bust by butt.

I love you so much little man- you are the best boy in the world!!!!!!

A baby to be.

Even more astonishing when two little ones are being created all at once.

For those of you that follow Munchkins and Mohawks know that weeks of preparation go into preparing a shoot- from styling to location – hair and makeup coordination. It is quite the process.

So when an unexpected need to shoot ASAP comes up- we  all kick it into high gear and pull together. With the help of my lovely crew….. Beth- our amazing stylist, Lisa Johnson- beauty enhancing makeup artist, and Ashely- my right hand girl….. we made this very special session happen. Thank you.

This couple could not be more deserving of  little twin babes. He just adores her- it was so fun to be around them. They exude love for each other and their two little ones. These little babies have no idea of the love that they have in store for them. Blessed kiddos for sure.

So now as mom snuggles into the hospital for the duration-we wait to meet these little ones. I am so grateful that we were able to capture this exciting time of anticipation.

I have been reflecting on such a wonderful year both personally and professionally.

We welcomed our third baby into our family this past spring.

The other two-well they are pretty amazing as well!

My little guy has made amazing strides this year- we are so proud of him.

And my middle- she is just a riot! Her personality definitely bloomed this year. One of a kind for sure!

and professionally. I am doing what I absolutely love-

styled portrait commissions.

I love creating art for families.

We had a great holiday here. Got some much needed rest and relaxation and are ready to welcome all the good that 2012 has to offer!

You may recognize this familiar face from his newborn shoot. Well- 16 months later little brother has made his grand entrance…..late I might add! ( Poor momma!)

There was lots of blood, sweat and tears to get this shot! Well- maybe not blood, but hey the sweat part for sure!

Cousin joined us for part of the session- man he was such an awesome helper!

And all cuddled up and pooped out from the business of the day. Let’s hope he stayed that way for a while for mom.

This last session of 2011 was a great way to end the year.
